State v. Lacy Thomas: Arraignment

Former University Medical Center Chief Executive Officer Lacy Thomas entered pleas of “not guilty” during an initial arraignment in front of District Court Judge Michael Villani Thursday (Feb. 28). Judge Villani set bail at $350,000 and ordered Mr.Thomas to surrender his passport. Thomas must post bail today (Feb. 29). His trial has been set for Sept. 8, 2008.
North Las Vegas School Bus Shooting: Grand Jury Indictment

A Clark County Grand Jury issued an indictment this morning (Jan. 09) against three individuals accused of taking part in a shooting at a school bus stop that left six people wounded last month. Dresden Michael Williams, Erica Renee Adams and Franklin Jackson next appear in a District Court Arraignment Courtroom January 16, 2008 to enter a plea.
In the 17-count indictment, Williams and Jackson were charged with conspiracy to commit murder, seven counts of attempted murder with a deadly weapon and six counts of battery with a deadly weapon. Adams was charged with felony accessory and cocaine trafficking charges.
State v. Chester Stiles: Entry of Plea

Chester Stiles, accused of 20 counts including sexual assault and lewdness with a child, entered a plea of not guilty during an arraignment this morning before Judge Jennifer Togliatti. Stiles remains in the Clark County Detention Center on a no bail hold.
The state requested a trial within 60 days. The judge set a trial date of April 14, 2008.

Arraignment for Chester Stiles has been continued until 9 a.m. Jan. 9, 2008 in front of District Court Judge Jennifer Togliatti. On that date Mr. Stiles is expected to enter a plea to charges of Lewdness with a Child under the Age of 14, Sexual Assault of a Minor under the Age of 14, and Attempt Sexual Assault with a Minor under the Age of 14.

Defendants Sadia Morrison, Adam B. Jones, and Robert Reid will appear at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday (Dec. 5) in the District Court Arraignment Courtroom (Lower Level A) to enter a plea in regards to an information alleging Battery with Substantial Bodily Harm and Conspiracy to Commit Disorderly Conduct in connection with a February 2007 fight at the Minxx Gentleman’s Club. KLAS-TV will provide television/radio pool coverage of this hearing. Media seeking access should file a District Court Media Request Form. Questions: contact Michael Sommermeyer, (702) 671-4534.
State v. Simpson, et. al., District Court Arraignment

Defendants Charles Erhlich, Clarence Stewart and O.J. Simpson will appear before District Court Judge Jackie Glass at 10 a.m. Nov. 28 to enter pleas after Justice Court Judge Joe M. Bonaventure concluded enough evidence exists to bind over the defendants to face 12 counts, including kidnapping and robbery.
Judge Bonaventure made his decision this afternoon (Nov. 14) following a four-day preliminary hearing, which contained the testimony of eight witnesses.
The 12 charges stem from an alledged robbery Sept. 13 of two sports memorabilia dealers at the Palace Station.
An arraignment has been scheduled at 10 a.m. Nov. 28 in Courtroom 1A.
State v. Simpson, Cashmore & Alexander Enter Guilty Pleas in District Court

Clark County District Court Arraignment Hearing Master Kevin Williams accepted guilty pleas from Walter Alexander and Charles Cashmore this morning. Alexander entered a guilty plea to a single charge of conspiracy to commit robbery, while Cashmore entered a guilty plea to accessory to robbery. Cashmore and Alexander return April 15, 2008 for a status check in front of Judge Jackie Glass, who will schedule a sentencing date for both men.
Alexander and Cashmore admitted they joined O.J. Simpson and three other defendants in the alleged theft of sports collectibles from two memorabilia dealers September 13, 2007 at the Palace Station Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

Charles H. Cashmore and Walter Alexander will formally enter pleas before District Court’s Arraignment Court Hearing Master Kevin Williams at 9 a.m. on Tuesday (Oct. 23) in Lower Level Arraignment Court A. A pool camera will be established for television and print media. Only one camera, television and still, will be allowed in the courtroom. All duplications and feeds must be done outside of the courtroom. Pursuant to local rules (see #17), no media will be allowed to interview anyone inside the building. A media area will be established for interviews outside the Regional Justice Center’s north entrance.
State v. Stiles, Initial Appearance

Chester A. Stiles made his first appearance before Judge Deborah Lippis this morning in Justice Court Department 1. Stiles was surrounded by Court Marshals and corrections officers from the Clark County Detention Center. Security was expanded following numerous threats targeting Stiles.
Stiles was appointed a public defender after he indicated to Judge Lippis that he couldn’t afford an attorney. Deputy Public Defender Jeff Banks was appointed to the case.
Stiles returns to court Nov. 19 at 10 a.m. for a preliminary hearing. He is being held without bail in the Clark County Detention Center.
Stiles faces the following counts and charges:
- 10 counts of Lewdness with a child under 14 years old
- 11 counts of Sexual Assault with a victim under 14 years old
- 1 count of Attempted Sexual Assault with a victim under 14 years old
- 1 count of Use of a Minor in Pornography
