New Justice Court Clerk’s Hours

Effective February 1, 2009, the Las Vegas Justice Court Clerk’s Criminal Division shall be closed at 4:00 p.m.
The Las Vegas Justice Court Clerk’s Civil Division will continue to receive documents until 5:00 p.m. but will discontinue filing them after 4:00 p.m. Documents dropped at the Civil Division’s window or left in one of the first floor drop boxes after 4:00 p.m. will be marked as “received” as of that date.

Civil Division Clerk Office Will Close Early Nov. 7, 2008

The Civil Division Clerk’s Office of the Las Vegas Township Justice Court will close early at 4 p.m. on Friday (Nov. 7). The last customer ticket number will be pulled at 3:30 p.m. and no new tickets will be offered to customers after that time. The Clerk’s Office will close early to provide training aimed at improving customer service.
Customers may use the drop boxes located on the first floors of the RJC by security if they need to file an item after hours. The Civil Division Clerk’s Office will reopen at 8 a.m. on November 10, 2008.
Civil Filing Fees Increase November 1, 2008

Effective November 1, 2008, the civil filing fees for the Clark County District and Las Vegas Justice Courts will increase by $3.00. The revised filing fee schedule is available at http://www.clarkcountycourts.us/clerk/filing-fees.html.
State v. Adam Jones : Complaint Alleges Gambling Debt Unpaid
A criminal complaint has been filed in the Las Vegas Township Justice Court charging Adam “Pacman” Jones with fraud and theft.

Cordero v. Endoscopy Center of Southern Nevada

The first class action complaint has been filed by two individuals against the Endoscopy Center of Southern Nevada alleging the defendants treated patients with dirty syringes that were previously exposed to unknown persons.

Documents have been filed with the Court Clerk in State v. Simpson, et. al., by defendants Charles Ehrlich, Clarence Stewart and Orenthal James Simpson challenging the charges in the case. In addition, Mr. Ehrlich seeks to be tried separately from his co-defendants. Ehrlich also seeks to prevent a witness from testifying against him. Additionally, the Clark County District Attorney has filed four documents in the case.
District Court Case Reassignments

Effective Monday, April 30, 2007, all cases in three judicial departments (Judge Elizabeth Halverson, Judge Michael Villani, and Judge William Barker) will be reassigned.
- Judge Halverson, Department 23, will be reassigned Judge Villanis’ all civil caseload.
- Judge Barker, Department 18, will be reassigned Judge Halversons’ civil and criminal caseload (Criminal Track 7).
- Judge Villani, Department 17 will be reassigned Senior Judge Brennans’ civil and criminal caseload (Criminal Track 3).
Civil Jury Demand Fee Collection Suspended

Pursuant to Nevada Supreme Court order, the District Court Clerk of the Court will temporarily suspend the collection of fees associated with filing a civil jury demand effective today (Jan. 16). Interested parties will be notified once fee collection is reinstated. Please be advised that pursuant to NRCP 38, parties are still required to file the actual demand for a civil jury.
