Family Court Clerk Closes Early Oct. 2

The Family Court Clerk’s office will close at 4:00 p.m. this Friday (Oct. 2) due to the construction of an improvement project. The Family Court and Services Center is located at 601 N. Pecos, Las Vegas, NV.
Administrative Order: Foreclosure Mediation Petitions for Judicial Review

Eighth Judicial District Court Chief Judge T. Arthur Ritchie, Jr. has issued an administrative order (AO-0913) regarding the hearing of petitions for judicial review in foreclosure mediation cases. In addition, a request for judicial review in Foreclosure Mediation cases can be filed with the Court Clerk.
District Court Case Reassignments Effective September 21, 2009

The Eighth Judicial District Court will initiate a caseload transfer for four judicial departments effective September 21, 2009. The four departments affected by the reassignment of cases include:
- Dept. 4, Judge Kathy Hardcastle, mixed civil/criminal (Criminal Track 11).
- Dept. 7, Judge Linda Bell, mixed civil/criminal (Criminal Track 5).
- Dept. 14, Judge Donald Mosley, mixed criminal/mortgage foreclosure review (Criminal Track 11).
- Dept. 15, Judge Abbi Silver, mixed civil/criminal (Criminal Track 5).

In the event an attorney has not exercised a peremptory challenge and wishes to do so, he/she must exercise the peremptory challenge in accordance with Supreme Court Rule 48.1 and the case will be randomly reassigned.

Eighth Judicial District Court E-Filing Training (1 CLE)

On February 1, 2010 the Eighth Judicial District Court will require mandatory electronic filing for all civil and criminal documents filed in the court (EJDC Administrative Order 09-12).
