Evidence presented to the Clark County Grand Jury in State v. Richard Earl Shepherd will not be made available by the District Court Clerk until 10 days after the unsealing of the indictment pursuant to NRS 172.225. Evidence and the transcripts in the case are considered sealed by the court until the transcripts have been filed, which by statute must be done within 10 days of the indictment. In this case, evidence and transcripts in the case will be made available to the public on approximately September 13, 2007.
The release of video surveillance tapes to the media was made outside of the court and the grand jury process, according to Court Information Officer Michael Sommermeyer.
