State v. Maestas: Penalty Trial

The penalty trial for Beau Maestas begins this afternoon with jury selection. Maestas pled guilty to pled guilty to first-degree murder. Last year a penalty trial for Maestas ended in deadlock when a jury could not decide whether to sentence him to death leading to a new penalty trial. Jury selection will start at 1:30 PM in District Court Department 14.
